Jim Boomer
Jim Boomer is a shareholder and the CIO for Boomer Consulting, Inc. He is the director of the Boomer Technology Circles ™ and an expert on managing technology within an accounting firm. He
also serves as a strategic planning and technology consultant and firm adviser
to CPA firms across the country. In addition, Jim is leading The Producer
Circle ™ in collaboration with CPA2BIZ and the AICPA. Awards & Recognitions

has been named to The CPA Practice Advisor’s "Forty Under Forty” and "Top
25 Thought Leaders” lists multiple times. He is also a graduate of
the AICPA Leadership Academy and the KSCPA’s "20 Under 40” Leadership
Program. He is an active member of the KSCPA and AICPA serving on the
AICPA’s CITP credentials and TECH+ Steering Committees. Jim currently sits on
the KSCPA board of directors and acts as the champion of the technology task

Consulting, Inc., Jim was with BearingPoint and Arthur Andersen Business
Consulting in Phoenix, AZ and San Francisco, CA.. Throughout Jim’s professional
career, he has worked on many diverse projects in varied industries. His
consulting has focused on IT strategy and implementation, including projects
focused on Knowledge Management, Document Management, Workplace Collaboration
and Corporate Portals. He has also had experience with several e-Business and
Business Intelligence technologies. His past client list includes several
Fortune 500 companies.
Personal
Jim
holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from
Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas and a Masters of Business
Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas. He and
his wife, Mary, live in Prairie Village, KS with their son, Miles and daughter,
Larren.
