Awarding those who Bridge the Gap

Photo of Erin CheeverTwo years ago at our annual Boomer Technology Circle Summit, we debuted the Boomer Consulting, Inc. Bridging The Gap Awards. The awards highlighted the importance of linking business management, IT strategies, human resources and training and learning in the accounting industry. We wanted to recognize the leaders and players within a firm that strive every day to do so. Building the bridge between firm management, technology and emerging leaders has always been a core value at Boomer Consulting. As we approach our 2015 Summit, I wanted to highlight the 2015 Boomer Consulting, Inc. Bridging the Gap Awards as we search for those to honor this year.

Our Bridging The Gap Awards are split up into four different categories.

Bridging the Gap in Firm Management Award

The ideal candidate for the Bridging the Gap in Firm Management Award will display the following traits and characteristics at their firm:

  • Effectively communicates with IT to align the firm vision with IT strategy
  • Incorporates IT leadership in the planning of the overall firm vision
  • Acts as champion to provide IT the resources necessary to accelerate progress toward achieving firm goals
  • Must be nominated by a peer (cannot self-nominate)

Bridging the Gap in Technology Award

The ideal candidate for the Bridging the Gap in Technology Award will display the following traits and characteristics at their firm:

  • Effectively communicates with firm leadership to align the firm vision with IT strategy
  • Actively participates in setting the strategic course for the overall firm vision
  • Consistently scanning the environment for new/innovative tools to accelerate progress toward achieving firm goals
  • Must be nominated by a peer (cannot self-nominate)

Bridging the Gap as an Emerging Leader

The ideal candidate for the Bridging the Gap as an Emerging Leader Award will display the following traits and characteristics at their firm:

  • They have led a project in the firm.  This project should be one that has made a difference in the firm and shows they can manage people and action plans. 
  • They have a strong relationship with the current leaders of the firm and are highly respected.
  • They act as a positive leader in the firm and are seen as a leader by their peers.
  • They are consistently scanning the environment for new/innovative tools to accelerate progress toward achieving firm goals

Bridging the Gap in IT / Firm Management Award – Project of the Year

The ideal project for the Bridging the Gap in IT / Firm Management Award – Project of the Year Award will meet the following criteria:

  • Project leverages technology to accelerate the achievement of the firm's vision and goals
  • IT & Firm Management worked collaboratively to plan and implement the project
  • The project was implemented within the last 12 months

Each award category gives individuals and all generations of the firm the ability to be acknowledged.
