December 2004 Circle Update
As the year 2004 draws to a close, we can look back on a good year for the Boomer Technology Circles. Over 93% of the firms who were members in 2003 renewed their memberships for 2004. The addition of new firms enabled the program to grow by more than 20% overall compared to 2003. We plan for even greater growth in 2005!
During 2004 we instituted a BTC Advisory Board, made up of one elected representative from each Circle with the purpose of giving feedback to Boomer Consulting, Inc. and providing a sounding board for new ideas. This board has met twice and provided valuable assistance in crafting the future direction of the Circle program.
Our programs this year continued to focus on real-life best practices, lessons learned, and innovative uses of technology experienced by our member firms. Again and again our feedback told us the programs were useful and informative. Consistently, though, the most often reported benefit of the Circle meetings were the chances to meet and talk at length with peer firms in a cooperative and non-threatening environment. This sharing and confidence building will always be a key component of the Circle program.
As we look ahead to 2005, we are planning significant improvements to the Boomer Knowledge Network. We know our members consider this a valuable component of their membership and we are excited about upgrading it in all kinds of ways. Watch for our rollout announcement early in 2005!
We look forward to seeing all our current members when we reconvene in the spring and welcoming new member firms into their Circles.
Happy Holidays and best wishes for a prosperous 2005!
