Share Your "Tip of the Day"
The last quarter of the year is here. Don't let yourself just slide into it – I encourage you to push and persist on through to the finish! The 4th quarter may very well be your best quarter. Here are some ways to make the last quarter the best in 2004.
Make a plan
Review your 2004 goals. Look back over the year and see what has worked well for you, what has not and just what you need to change or do to meet your overall goals for 2004. Now be honest with yourself. Share your plan with your boss or a coworker and allow them to hold you accountable. Peer pressure is good.
Suggestions:
- Revise the procedure and check list to …..
- Take a class in using Excel
Write it down
Don't leave your plan to "perhaps it will get done." Capture those ideas and plans on paper; write down the project or objective you want to accomplish and the desired result. Then put action steps to the plan. Setting specific steps will help you define exactly how you are going to go about accomplishing these items. Check each step off as you go. The more you get done, the more you will want to achieve!
Review & revise your plan
Review/revise your plan every week to keep focused and on task. A look at the overall picture helps put everything into perspective. It's OK to revise the plan as you go. Keep your company's overall goals in mind. Whether it's "x" number of clients to "x" dollars of revenue, you have a part in the company plan and you can have a positive effect.
Reward yourself
Reward yourself as you meet each objective. It's good to celebrate successes. Pick your reward and savor it.
Now let's get going and make 2004 a memorable year!
