A Look Ahead at 2007
I would like to start with a sincere “thank you” from the entire Boomer Consulting team. Our clients and partners have strengthened the networking power of the Boomer Community and made 2006 a successful and fulfilling year for all of us at Boomer Consulting. With 2006 coming to an end, I would like to provide a snapshot of our major initiatives in 2007 as we continue to strive to improve customer service and enhance the value provided to members of our community.
The Boomer Technology Circles
The Boomer Technology Circles are exclusive groups of leading firms that join together to examine current issues and address common concerns about the management of technology within their firms. The format is unlike any other available to the accounting industry. Each Circle includes 15-20 comparably sized firms representing different geographic areas of the country. Each member firm is represented by the partner or shareholder responsible for technology strategy and the chief technology employee. Currently about 120 firms participate in the Circles.
2007 marks the eighth anniversary of The Boomer Technology Circles. Of the ten firms that were part of the first circle in 1999, nine are still members of the program – the lone departure caused by a merger. The circles continue to grow in terms of number of firms as well as the size of the knowledge base within the community. With a goal of 150 total participating firms in 2007, the BTC value proposition will grow as more of the industry’s leading firms join this collaborative program.

The Performance3 Management Program
The Performance3 Management Program is specifically designed to offer an environment where each participant is challenged to master exceptional management skills. The goal is to amplify each manager's capability to execute the functions of planning, people and processes within their area of the firm. The structure of the program is modeled after the Boomer Technology Circles, but the content is catered specifically toward firm management professionals.
We facilitated our inaugural class in early November, and the feedback was extremely positive. We will continue to adapt and improve the program based on participants’ feedback, further enhancing the value of the program in 2007. Our first class comprised nine managers from firms throughout the country. We expect the size of this community to increase significantly based on the interest we’ve observed in the market and the fact that many firms are already building it into their 2007 budgets.
