Boomer Bulletin

Introducing a new member of our team!

An enthusiastic welcome to Andrew Hanenkamp, Boomer Consulting’s new Interaction Developer.

Andrew will be working with our new web site and other online applications. He will be involved in the integration of commercial and open source programs to increase our effectiveness in the office. Along with web site experience, he brings a broad range of IT and programming experience to our staff.

Andrew comes to us from Kansas State University where he worked for the past 5 years: 3 while getting his M.S. in Computer Science and 2 as a faculty member working as both an instructor and system administrator. Prior to that, he “paid” for his B.S. in C.S. by working as a part time consultant for a local firm on internal development projects, web sites, and system administration.

As we get to know Andrew, we’re finding that his hobbies aren't that much different from his work. He tells us…"working on" and "playing on" computers have been synonymous for him since he was about 10 years old. And as a true IT kind of guy, he is a pragmatic advocate of Open Source software and believes that Open Source and business solutions can balance each other to produce better results than a pure proprietary model can.

Oh well, what ever that tech talks means … we look forward to having Andrew onboard. By the way, he is a major fan of the online Homestarrunner cartoon. Strong Bad is, in fact, his hero.  At his last job, student employees gave him the nickname "The Yellow Dart" from an episode of Strong Bad's Email titled English Paper.
