Getting Recharged After Tax Season
The end of tax season is in sight! Are you one of the unsung tax heroes working long hours to produce great results for clients? As rewarding as doing great client work is, you and your team are likely feeling the effects of the long season. How do you recharge after the smoke clears from your dual monitors and you stop dreaming about tax codes?
The options
After all of the hard work done to fill Uncle Sam’s coffers, here are some options for your post-tax season strategy:
- Take a vacation (bringing the family is your decision)
- Start a new exercise routine (if you have any energy left)
- Attend the firm’s after season party (watch that open bar)
- Just go back to work on the next stack of fun (why? why? why?)
- Read a new book to help you focus on total firm improvement (now wait just a minute…we may have something here. I need to expand on this)
Kilowatts of insight
As appealing as the first four options might sound, reading a book may just be what the doctor ordered. But what book should a great CPA like you read? The latest volume that everyone is talking about, Performance3™: Planning x People x Process by L. Gary Boomer.
People are saying great things!
- Just finished reading the book. It was outstanding. I have heard Gary speak on many of these topics, but to have it in one handbook will be very helpful. My fear is that my competition will read this book and wake up. Nice job and thanks for all you have done for our firm.
Scott A. Heintzelman, Partner at McKonly & Asbury, LLP in Pennsylvania
- I read every word of the book on a flight to Austin this week! It is perfect for this time and I plan on getting it into the hands of my partners. Let me know how I can get more copies quickly!
