Accounting professionals now have a new, free resource for marketing tips and advice thanks to Thomson Reuters launch of Marketing Mondays, a new blog featured in the company’s ARNE online accounting community. The blog is authored by Jack LaRue, senior vice president and general manager of Thomson Reuters myPay Solutions® payroll service.
LaRue spent nearly ten years heading up business-to-business marketing for Florists’ Transworld Delivery (FTD) before joining Thomson Reuters in 1993 as vice president of marketing. He held that position until 2006 when he was named senior vice president of the CS Professional Suite®. Most recently, he was named senior vice president of myPay Solutions in 2008.
With one foot firmly in marketing and the other in the accounting business, LaRue realized that his unique perspective might help other accountants realize the benefits to be gained through marketing and promotion. And when the new ARNE online community launched earlier this year, it offered a new way to make it happen.
“Communication is the lifeblood of marketing, so you can imagine how excited I am to be a part of the new ARNE,” LaRue said. “It’s doing so much to bring the accounting profession together in meaningful and productive ways, and I’m happy to contribute.”
Dubbed Marketing Mondays, LaRue’s weekly blog launched September 21. It unites marketing with accounting, featuring marketing tips and expertise culled from LaRue’s 25 years of experience. To hear LaRue tell it, it’s a union that’s long overdue.
“A lot of accountants are a little hesitant when it comes to marketing,’” LaRue said. “But marketing is about much more than just stumping for new business. It gives you new ways of thinking about your firm that can help you gain a better understanding of where you are now and how to get where you want to go in the future.”
In addition to actionable marketing tips and tactics, LaRue’s weekly posts will offer higher-level insights on how to position an accounting firm for success over the long term.
Marketing Mondays will appear in the Featured Blogs & Articles section of Thomson Reuters recently launched ARNE community, which is available to accounting professionals who use or have interest in Thomson Reuters line of tax and accounting software and information services. More information about the ARNE Community, and about Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite and Enterprise Suite™ software, is available at CS.ThomsonReuters.com.
