CCH Announces IntelliConnect™ Enhancements

Users of IntelliConnect™, the award-winning research platform for tax and accounting professionals from CCH, can now get their results even faster and speed through their research quicker due to a number of enhancements. CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, is a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services (CCHGroup.com).
"We’re making it easier for users to fine-tune their searches and to navigate through a research session even more quickly, and intuitively,” said CCH Product Manager Tina Rajski.
The enhancements include greater overall speed and performance; the ability to apply multiple filters to a single search; the ability to quickly collapse the browse tree and shortcuts to adjoining documents.
Multiple Filters Available Simultaneously
Users now have the ability to cross-filter – or apply multiple filters simultaneously – using all of the filters that are available to them. For example, they can narrow their search results by selecting a specific document type, a tax type, a menu level on a library and a specific jurisdiction – all at the same time.
"Being able to apply multiple filters allows users to refine their results, getting them their answers faster,” Rajski said. "Cross-filtering by Tax Type, Document Type and Jurisdiction is especially convenient and time saving for our state tax users.”
Browsing Quicker with "Collapse All”
Researchers who use browsing as a research strategy will also have a new time-saving technique available. A "Collapse All” function will allow them to collapse all of the topically-arranged menu levels they’ve opened so they can easily restart their research from a different beginning point or enter a new search.
"Users have told us that a function like this would really speed their research, and we’re glad to be able to provide it so quickly,” Rajski said.
Nearby Documents, Search Results
A new "Nearby Documents” function enables researchers to view the next and previous documents in the publication as if they were reading the document in a book, without leaving the search results list.
"This is a time-saving shortcut for accessing nearby content that can explain or expand on the document at hand,” Rajski noted.
Similarly, buttons allow researchers to move quickly to the next and previous documents on the search results list, without having to go back to the list itself.
"This makes IntelliConnect even more intuitive to use,” Rajski said.
IntelliConnect won a 2009 Tax and Accounting Technology Innovation Award from The CPA Technology Advisor. The award recognizes innovative developments in technologies that benefit the tax and accounting profession, as well as significant advancements in existing technologies. The award marks the fifth time in six years that a CCH product has won the prestigious honor. IntelliConnect also earned a top 5-star rating in The CPA Technology Advisor’s review of tax and accounting research systems.
"These new enhancements show that we aren’t done innovating,” Rajski said. "They’re evidence of our continuing commitment to listening to our users and delivering the very best in tax research, and users can look forward to a variety of IntelliConnect enhancements throughout the coming year.”
