The Most Influential People in Accounting

BCI Leaders Included in “Most Influential” in Public Accounting

Three leaders from Boomer Consulting, Inc. (BCI) are among the “Top 100 Most Influential People” in Public Accounting, according to industry publication Accounting Today.

This marks the 19th straight year that BCI’s founder, Gary Boomer, has appeared on the list. President Sandra Wiley has been honored each year since 2009 and CEO Jim Boomer each year since 2012.

Gary Boomer, Sandra Wiley and Jim Boomer are profiled, along with the other honorees, in a special supplement to Accounting Today magazine’s September 2016 issue. Each year, the publication publishes a listing of the change-makers and thought leaders who are shaping the accounting profession.

In the special report, the editors write, “Gaining entry into our annual list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting isn’t easy, but it can be done. . . All you have to do is become a nationwide thought leader, or start envisioning and building the structure of the profession for the next five, 10 or 20 years.”

Gary, Sandra and Jim are honored by the recognition and proud to be included with several outstanding individuals that participate in the Boomer Technology Circles and the Boomer Advisor Circle, as well as several sponsors and solution providers.

 


In addition to the Top 100, a Top 10 are ranked based on votes from all of the candidates.

Gary Boomer is once again included in this year’s Top 10, alongside Securities & Exchange Commission Chair Mary Jo White, AICPA President and CEO Barry Melancon, Financial Accounting Standards Board Chair Russel Golden, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board Chair James Doty.
