Getting the Most Out of Your BTC Summit Experience

We are excited to announce that we will getting back to in-person meetings starting with the 2021 Boomer Technology Circle Summit in August. Thank you for all the input from members, advisory boards and sponsors in helping us in the decision making process. While significant progress has been made toward opening back up, we recognize that not everyone will be ready or even allowed to travel by August so we are working hard on a blended event that will provide a valuable experience whether you are with us live or virtually. To this end, another round of your input would be greatly appreciated to help us better plan the event. Please complete this short survey by Wednesday, June 9th.

With the rapidly changing safety guidance for COVID19, it is difficult to provide a detailed list of safety measures we will take to ensure the safety of our participants and team. However, we can ensure you that safety remains our #1 priority and we will be following all CDC, state and local guidelines for the Summit. We will communicate more details on this and more between now and August.

Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you all in August whether it's in-person or virtual!

As we quickly approach our 2021 Boomer Technology Circles™ Summit, I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to highlight some of the best ways to get the most out of your time in Kansas City!

Get to know your agenda and attend all sessions

Our agendas for the upcoming BTC Summit meeting are dependent on what Circle you are attending. To accommodate us at the Intercontinental, half of the participants will have their individual day on Monday with the General Sessions on Tuesday, and the other half will have their individual day on Wednesday, again with the General Sessions on Tuesday. To find out more information regarding your particular Circle meeting and when you need to arrive and depart, please watch out for each of the final Circle agendas coming your way in mid-June. Also, remember we have some great keynote speakers this year at Summit that you will not want to miss at the General Sessions on Tuesday, August 10th!

Keynote speakers

Mark your calendars for our keynote sessions we have lined up for Tuesday, August 10th. Terri Broussard Williams, Founder and President of Movement Maker will help your find your fire by inspiring you to be a courageous and impactful change agent. Arianna Campbell and Jon Hubbard of Boomer Consulting, Inc. will take us through a conversation on change leadership and client experience. Our Boomer Consulting Shareholder Team will also lead us through the Boomer Briefing where participants will get the latest updates on industry trends, growth strategies and opportunities from both the firm management and technology perspectives. You will also hear updates and insights from the Boomer Technology Circles Metrics and tools and tactics for how your firm can improve and remain a leader in the profession.

Location, location, location

Our BTC Summit meeting will be held at the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza! Located in the heart of the Country Club Plaza, the Intercontinental brings new and fresh meeting spaces and experiences to our members. Along with the location, participants are offered endless options for networking with their peers through dining and entertainment right across the street. To read more information about the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza and the Country Club Plaza, please visit https://www.visitkc.com/country-club-plaza.

New faces in the crowd

To give you better access to more expertise at Boomer Consulting, our community model allows several of our consultants and staff to participate and facilitate at all our community meetings. No longer will your sessions be led by one main individual at BCI. Other consultants have stepped into facilitation roles within the BTC Summit and communities. With different backgrounds and knowledge in Leadership, Talent, Technology, Process and Growth, all of our consultants are ready to offer new perspectives and information to participants.

Connecting and networking

The BTC Summit has always given ample time and opportunity for participants to network with their peers along with the solution providers throughout the event. At Summit, we will have three different evening social event opportunities for networking. With member firms from across the country and more than 30 different solution providers on hand, the connection time between you, your peers and the sponsor firms that support you is endless.

Let’s get digital

Our digital materials will increase interaction and collaboration during the meeting while also placing all the information you need at your fingertips before the meeting. By visiting our App and mobile site, you will be able to familiarize yourself with the agenda, meeting materials, breakout sessions, sponsor showcases, and all of the things Summit has to offer.

Sponsor showcases

When reviewing the agenda, remember that we have several Sponsor Sessions during the Summit this year. Most of the sessions will occur on Tuesday, August 10 where you will hear relevant and timely topics from leading solution providers like Thomson Reuters, Wolters Kluwer, Sage and Intuit. Separate registration is required to attend these sessions but the best part is that there is no additional fee for these sessions.

There is no “I” in team

Boomer Consulting has brought on many new additions when it comes to our staff. We welcomed Katelynn Kolterman, Project Coordinator and Kylie Pruser, Solutions Advisor. These amazing people have helped round out our already awesome team at Boomer Consulting, and they can’t wait to be a part of this year’s BTC Summit. If you have any questions, please ask a Boomer Team member. We are here to help!

Check out our Accounting Innovation Center

While all of our BTC Summit events will take place at the Intercontinental, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention our Accounting Innovation Center. The AIC venue for professional development, conferences, corporate meetings, training sessions and focus groups.

The 4,300+ square feet can be divided up into five separate event spaces. A large conference space can seat roughly 60 people or divided into two 30-seat meeting rooms. A second conference room seats 10 to 12 people and is perfect for smaller leadership teams and board meetings. With multimedia capabilities and outside catering options, planning an event is simple and affordable. Please let us know if you’d like to arrange a tour of the space while you’re in town!

We look forward to having you at our upcoming 2021 BTC Summit! If you have any questions or would like any more information regarding the event, please visit the BTC Summit page at boomer.com/summit2021.
