Nominate a Student for an Eagle U Scholarship

Accounting firm leaders spend a lot of time thinking and talking about talent pipelines, leadership development and the future of the firm. But some of the most meaningful talent investments happen well before someone submits a resume or chooses a major.

That’s where Eagle U comes in.

Each year, Boomer Consulting sponsors students to attend Eagle U, a leadership and career development program designed for young people ages 15 to 25. This year’s program is July 13 – 17, 2026, at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Instead of simply telling you Eagle U is impactful, we want to walk you through why it works and why nominating a student for a scholarship is a practical, long-term investment in leadership.

Step 1: Understand the gap Eagle U is designed to fill

Many high school and college students are bright, motivated and capable but lack clarity. Parents and educators ask them to make major decisions about education and careers without exposure to real-world guidance, professional expectations or intentional goal-setting frameworks.

Eagle U addresses that gap by focusing on skills that are rarely taught in traditional education but are critical to professional success, including communication, confidence, decision-making and personal accountability. For students who feel overwhelmed by choices, this structure provides direction without prescribing a single path.

Step 2: See what students actually learn

Eagle U is an immersive, multi-day experience that blends instruction, application and mentorship. Students get to practice the concepts they’re learning about, including:

  • Career clarity and informed decision-making

  • Interview preparation and professional presence

  • Goal setting and follow-through

  • Effective study and time-management strategies

  • Financial fundamentals and long-term thinking

  • Relationship building and networking skills

The program also connects students with mentors and peers who challenge them to think differently about their potential. Check out the videos on the Eagle U website to see these sessions and get a sense of the environment students experience during the program.

Step 3: Understand why timing matters

Eagle U is intentionally positioned early in a student’s journey. Part of the value comes from how soon they can apply what they learn. Participants consistently return home with greater confidence, clearer priorities and a stronger sense of ownership over their choices.

From our experience sponsoring students, this early exposure often leads to better academic decisions, stronger interview outcomes and a more mature approach to work and leadership opportunities. Several former scholarship recipients have even returned to Eagle U as mentors!

Step 4: Identify the right student to nominate

You don’t need to have a “perfect” candidate. Eagle U benefits a wide range of students, including high achievers seeking an edge and those who are capable but still finding their footing. Think about the children or grandchildren of your team members, students connected to your firm or community, and young people in your life who show initiative but need direction or confidence. Often, the students who benefit the most aren’t the loudest or most obvious leaders.

Step 5: Take action through the scholarship program

Members of the Boomer Consulting Circle communities may nominate students for Eagle U scholarships. The application process is straightforward.

By nominating a student, you support their attendance at the summer program, providing access to tools, perspectives, and relationships that can shape how a young person approaches education, work and leadership for years to come.

If there’s a young person in your life who would benefit from clarity, confidence and practical guidance, consider nominating them for a scholarship. It’s a small action that can shape a much bigger future.
